BEHIND THE SCENES
Quick update: I’m using Beehiiv for the newsletter now.
Since 2025 was my year of messy middle, it feels fitting to share one more update in this last month. Let’s hear from Past Me, who didn’t know this journey was beginning.
Me, in December 2024 in my journal:
“I wish I could talk more about my world in progress, what I’m up to, what I’m in the middle of…right now I can’t literally form words and thoughts to share them…One day.”
Yeah, I don’t think I expected that “one day” to come so soon.
I’ve talked a lot about the messy middle this year and I honestly feel like I’m still in it but coming out of the thick of it. I’ve thrown a lot of spaghetti at virtual walls, testing to find what works for me:
from my 6 month What I Explored This Month series
to my new DIY to Supported interviews,
posting on LinkedIn (shoutout to Marika’s LinkedIn Sprint for helping me update my LinkedIn approach)
and now this newsletter, which feels like a good fit at the right time.
All that to say, thank you for being here! I’m so excited to share this month’s ND-friendly business and bookkeeping tips with you.
MAKING BUSINESS NEURODIVERGENT-FRIENDLY
LinkedIn post about how I make my business more neurodivergent-friendly using Stanford’s 5 principles of life design.
Short version? Lots of trial and error that is a cycle of empathy, iteration, and gentle improvement, designing with real humans in mind, one small adjustment at a time.
BOOKKEEPING TIPS (WITH CONTEXT)
Guide to All Questions From a Business Owner - I answered 8 questions from a business owner over on my bookkeeping blog, questions like “Are bookkeeping softwares even worth it?” and my personal favorite: “WTF is an audit exactly?”
(So many people are freaked out by the idea of an audit, so I tried to break it down in a way that makes it a lot less scary. Did I succeed? Reply to this email to let me know.)
Year-End Bookkeeping Checklist - It’s almost a new year, so I wanted to re-share a simple resource I made for anyone who wants a little guidance before tax season begins. This is a list of bookkeeping tasks to complete before tax season.
When You’re Ready for Help
Clarity Call - One-to-one consulting session with me, a bookkeeping consultant, to help you sort out the parts of your bookkeeping that feel confusing and make them doable.
Receipts Made Manageable mini course: How I organize receipts without buying new software, just using the cloud storage you already have (I use Google Drive as the example in the course)
